Joulu on jo ovella

lahjat valmiina - noh, joo.... vielä puuttuu,

mutta

onhan vielä  aikaa - ainakin päivä ja vähän yli  

Vielä ehtii tehdä vaikka hedelmäkorin ystävälle.

Muistan miten aikoinaan syksyllä vietiin omenat kellariin. Yksittäispakattuina puulaatikkoon. Pari päivää ennen joulua omenat koristivat joulukoria, jossa oli hyasintti, syksyllä kerättyä sammalta ja muutama puolukan varsi. 

Hyvä idea toki on myös karkkikori tai karkkeja lasipurkissa. Karkeissa on vain se vika itselläni, että ne tulee syötyä kerran ellei kahteen kertaan ennen kuin itse saaja saa osuuteensa. Kalliiksi tulee XD ja omat kilot kasvaa ;-)

Askartelin tämän vuoden ovikoristeen jouluaiheisella metallilangalla ja parilla joulutontulla. Pientä ja helppoa askartelua.

Joulukortteja aloin ideoida marraskuussa. Tuloksena alekoreista enkeliaiheisia servettejä ja joulupaperia. Tarrat jouduin ostamaan normaalihintaisena askartelukaupasta. Liimaa ja sakset.  Pinsetit helpottavat työskentelyä tarrojen käsittelyssä.

Ja ne lahjat - suurin osa on lähtenyt ystävilleni ympäri maailmaa; Yhdysvallat, Indonesia, Filippiinit, Saksa, Japani. Ja tyttärelleni Etelä-Koreaan <3

This is so good, yummy.

I prepared the first a non-dairy soup.  In the end I shared the soup in half and added a piece of the processed cheese. This is the easiest way to make same kind food at the same time for those who suffer from various allergies and those who can eat so called normal foodstuffs. All diners were very satisfied for their own portions.

1 onion

400 g (1 punds) sweet potato

300 g (0,7 punds) carrots

7 dl (24oz) water

1 vegetable stock cube

1 dl (3,5oz) coconut milk

basilica leaves

Cut into pieces an onion, a sweet potato and carrots. Add them into spoiled vegetable stock cube water. Cook vegetables about 10 minutes and puree them.

Add coconut milk in a kettle and stir lightly.  Let the soup boil a while; 2-3 minutes.

I didn't have at home fresh basilica so I added dried basilica leaves. They are never so tasty than fresh one but better some than none.

Processed cheese can be according to your taste. In our family all love strong tastes. Any special taste is needed for this soup but if you want it is your choice. Any salt is needed, that is sure.

Women jacket fashion 1940 - 1970

In front of a bus station in the 40's.

My grandma (dad's mom) lived the most of her life in a countryside. Though she was born in a town and knew how to clothe for a town visit.

I am sure this jacket was her very best one what she got. A model is nice with rounded neck.
A hat fits well with the jacket. I am not sure if she wore a scarf or is a white fabric a shirt's front ruffle. Anyway, it looks very cute.
She seems to know how a real woman walks. A step's line is so perfect.

The sisters in the begin of 50's. The big collars which were worn upper-folded like my mom in this pic (in a middle). A narrow waist highlighted with a belt. And the hats - aren't they cute and complement the overall.

My mom in the 50's in Sweden. This jacket was in a top fashion in that winter. I like its fur kind material. With a huge collar and turn over sleeve cuffs.










A maternity coat fashion in the 1959.
Hidden bottoms and wide sleeves were in the fashion.

A cute hat with a ribbons - again - goes so well with the jacket's design. Pumps look very steady for a pregnant woman.







A design in the 1975. Huge furry collar and sleeve cuffs. Two sided buttons and a narrow waist looked fab. An A-model is always very flattering and girlish.
A hat - a good question.





Then came short models for young girls. A bare skin was seen between very short jacket and new low pant's model.

A jacket on a left: This jacket was made by very thick and good wool fabric. Any interlining was needed. A big collar turned nicely up with two buttons. Cool flurry sleeve cuffs gave a good place to keep in them a little coin purse, a lip balm stick, a lipstick or what ever it was needed. The jacket went from mom to a daughter and kept her warm many years as it kept mom too.

A jacket on a right: A furry collar were in fashion in many girl's short jackets. This was more sporty with a zipper closer. Two tiny pockets on both sides were cool but quite useless. Too tiny to keep anything in them and they didn't even kept hands warm. One can hang fingers on pocket's edge and look cool.

  

Door decoration

You need one flowery serviette, a scissors, a piece of firm paper / cardboard, a glue, sewing yarn, a needle, some buttons, couple decoration strings. I got this white string with a flower bouquet and have saved it for good. 

At first cut out flowers of a serviette. This piece of red cardboard I cut out of carrier bag. The serviette flowers are a little bit too light for this decoration so a good thicker material is needed.

One can clue the serviette flowers on shaped cardboard flowers or do as I did.

I sewed different buttons on the middle of flowers.

Arrange the flowers to the form that appeals to you. 

This took only 10 minutes to do and certainly is much valuable than any commercial item.
