Tämä ei ole sitten mikään englanninkielen mallisivu. Valtaosa ystävistäni ovat englanninkielisiä ja heidän pyynnöstään yritän parhaani. He arvostavat suuresti yrittämistä, auttavat minua virheissäni yms. Mikäli siis et kestä lukea englanninkielisiä osioitani niin ohita ne.
JOULU ON JO OVELLA / A CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER
Joulu lähestyy kovaa vauhtia ja tulee jälleen kiire tehdä kaikki valmiiksi. Aina se vain yllättää, vaikka aloitan suunnittelun jo hyvissä ajoin syys-lokakuussa.

A Christmas time is almost behind the door, omg.... again it comes too soon - still so many days to go on but still time to do that and this. I started to plan the decos for the Christmas cards on Sep - Oct but when it was only a plan I am finding myself in a middle of chaos today.
Löysin vielä kasan viimevuotisia askartelutarvikkeita kaapistani, jotka auttavat minut hyvään alkuun ensimmäisten joulukorttien kanssa. Ehkä pitää ostaa muutama juttu vielä lisää....
Luckily I found some left-over decos from last year in my closet. They are giving me a good start with the Christmas cards. Perhaps I still need some new decos.....
Näyttää ihan leipätaikinalta, mutta ehei - on paperimassasta tehty taikina tällä kertaa. Tavallista sanomalehtipaperia, revitään suikaleiksi, laitetaan kieuhuvan kuumaan veteen likomaan vuorokaudeksi, otetaan vesi pois (itse käytin ihan tavallista spagettisiivilää - älä kerro 'äidille') ja kosteaan paperimassaan lisätään tapettiliisteriä. Pienen määrän voi aina vaivata käsin.
This could be look as a dough, eh? but oh-no, far from that indeed. It is made by the newspapers - a wood pulp dough. I have ripped slices out of the newspapers by hands. I have boiled water and kept slices in water overnight. Then I poured a lump in a sieve and helped with a wooden paddle to move water out of the lump. While a pulp is still wet it needs an adhesive. I used a wallpaper clue for that. It should added by using e.g. a tablespoon so you can't get suddenly too hard result. I can't give any good advise of the amounts but if you have ever baked, the result feels in your fingers just a same than a dough of a bread - not too firm and not too runny XD
Käytin muotoilussa piparkakkumuotteja. Pieni määrä paperimassaa muotin pohjalle ja irrotus. Mikäli massa ei irtoa voit käyttää esim. teelusikkaa apuna. Itselläni oli muovimuotteja, joista massa irtosi erittäin hyvin. Muista, että kuvio kuivuu juuri sen malliseksi millaiseksi jätät sen kuivumaan. Voit siis vielä muotoilla reunoja yms. mielesi mukaan. Reikä kannattaa laittaa valmiiksi ennen paperimassan kuivumista. Tein sen tällä kertaa sukkapuikolla.
I used a form of the gingerbiscuits for hearted figures. Patting a little amount of the pulp in a form. If the pulp won't come out easily you can use a table- or a teaspoon as a helper. Make sure that you are putting figures to dry in a horizontal plane. They are going to look out exactly as you have left them to dry. You can still make them look out unique by bending the rims while the pulp is wet.
If you are needing a hole for a band it should make before the figure dries. I used in this time a knitting stick (that was near by me in that moment, hih). You can use any kind item which is giving a nice hole.
Paperimassan kuivuttua on aika aloittaa maalaus. En ainakaan itse pidä harmaan värin sävystä, vaikka se on kyllä punaisessa kartonkikortissa aika makea. Ja todellinen joulun väri, alkuperäinen. Minä nyt halusin tällä kertaa punaisia sydämiä. Käytin vesivärejä, jotka jälleen kastavat paperimassaa sen verran, että on hyvä ripustaa värjätyt sydämet roikkumaan jonnekin.
It is time to start to give some colors to your hand craft figures. I don't like to give any gray colored hearts to my friends even though the gray was a main color of Christmas in the begin. The original color. Also these would look nice on a red cartoon, nyahhh...... In this time I want to have red-colored hearts, truly. I used basic watercolor so the painted figures need to be hang out to dry. One need those holes now.
Laitoin narun yhden kirjahyllyn reunan ympäri pituussuuntaisesti pyykkinaruksi sydämille. Itse sydämiin pujotin oman langan - mikä osoittautui turhan hankalaksi. Leikkasin lopulta sivuleikkureilla metallilankaa ja taivutin ne ässän mallisiksi. Helppo pujottaa toinen ässä sydämeen ja toisesta roikkumaan narulle.
You can put the figures to dry where ever you want and have a good space for them (if you have cats, dogs, kids at home....). I wrapped a paper string around one shelf and got a nice clotheshorse - or this time a heartshorse ^_^ The paper string was after all too complicated so I used instead of that a thin metal wire. I cut out of the wires the short lengths with a side cutter (very handy tool to own) and bend them into a form of S.
Sydänten kuivuessa pujotin uuden langan reiästä. Tällä kertaa kierrettyä narulankaa. Narujen päät kannattaa avata kiertäen niitä hivenen. Tämän jälkeen avautuvasta narusta saat muotoiltua mielesi mukaisia lehtiä / kuvioita, jotka tuovat kivan lisän kokonaisuudelle.
After the figures were dried out I threaded a paper string throught the hole. I rolled the end of the string a little bit and opened them by fingers. You can make own forms and models by using many strings etc.
Minä tein vielä askartelutarvikkeista kortin ja lisäsin sydämen korttiin. Hauskaa askartelua!
I made a card out of the left-overs and added the heart on it. Have a cool craft with your creativity!
